How It Works

Fawry acts as a trusted bridge between you and service providers across Egypt. When you want to pay a bill, simply select the service in the myFawry app or visit any Fawry point. The system generates a unique reference code tied to your account. You can then pay using your digital wallet, a credit or debit card, or by handing cash to any Fawry agent. Once payment is confirmed, Fawry instantly forwards it to the service provider and issues you a digital receipt - the entire process takes just seconds, with no need to visit the provider's offices in person.

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

1

Create a myFawry account

Download the myFawry app from the App Store or Google Play, or visit myfawry.com on your computer. Click "Sign Up" and provide your mobile phone number and National ID number.

You'll receive a verification code via SMS. Enter it to verify your number. Then set a secure password for your account.

💡 A digital wallet is automatically created when you sign up. You can add money to this wallet for faster payments.

2

Browse available services

Open the app and explore the hundreds of services available. Common categories include:

  • Utilities: Electricity (EDCO, EEDCO, BEDCO), water, gas
  • Telecom: Mobile top-ups, internet bills (WE, Vodafone, Orange, Etisalat)
  • Government: Traffic fines, ID renewal fees, tax payments
  • Education: University fees, school tuition, course payments
  • Insurance: Health, car, and life insurance premiums

💡 Use the search bar to quickly find the service you need.

3

Enter your account details and generate a code

Select the service you want to pay (for example, electricity). Enter your meter number or account number. The app will fetch your outstanding bill amount automatically.

Review the amount and click "Generate Fawry Code." A unique reference number is created for this specific bill.

💡 Double-check your account/meter number before generating the code to avoid paying the wrong bill.

4

Choose how to pay

You have multiple payment options:

  • In-app: Use your myFawry wallet balance, credit card, or debit card
  • Cash: Visit any pharmacy, supermarket, or Fawry kiosk and give them your reference code
  • Bank app: Most Egyptian banks support Fawry payments directly from their mobile apps

💡 In-app card payments are instant. Cash payments may take a few minutes to process.

5

Receive your receipt

Once payment is complete, you'll receive an SMS confirmation immediately. The digital receipt is also saved in your myFawry app under "Transaction History."

Keep this receipt as proof of payment. For government services and utilities, you may need to show it as confirmation.

💡 You can also email or print receipts directly from the app if needed.
